The Scorpion Winter 2's grooves extend from edge to edge with variable widths to help mute road noise and enhance traction, along with a dense network of 3D sipes that chew through snow and slush. Snow edges on main grooves actually trap and retain snow for snow/snow friction; like all winter tires, the Pirelli Scorpion 2 shouldn't be used if temperatures are below 40-45 degrees F.
